Monitoring of Water Storages in Queensland

To deliver on this requirement, the Department will grant a water licence to landowners within these major floodplains for the take of overland flow water (which replaces the existing authority to take under notified works).

This water licence will need to be granted by no later than November 2021, as there is a 12 month statutory period for landowners to install meters and meet the December 2022 commitment.

Deadline for landowners to submit meter validation certificate is 31 December 2022.
